Another sigh

Yesterday, went off to the bank to cash in that sort of paycheck i got(more like another set of allowance by my attached place hehe) and sheesh, even if its few days after payday, don't most ppl have already an enabled access to the use of ATM machine, instead of just relying on counters, adding the number difference between my number n the number currently served. Lucky I have to wait for less than 100+ ppl to pass by to get to the counter.

Then at nite, went out to escapade with Tikah , Adi n the gang but apparently the rain made it much difficult for everyone to reach there n Tikah the booker kinda couldn make it (termed by Tikah as "ditching") so its cancelled. Dah lah kana marah for going out in the rain, only to come to finding out tat only me and Adi made it while Tikah cancelled on us.

Since its like that me n Adi just decide to head on to Yuppy in Kiulap

So i guess its not bad day but not exactly a gud day either

4 in a row

Yesterday, went to mirul's place to watch some of the DVD's i bought which i was too depressed to watch them alone at the current time.

But,seriously, 4 DVD's in a role? tats a lot of hours to watch them (we watched them from like 2 something till nearly 9). Poor mirul for getting scared most of the time, all the DVD's were quite the horror type, not exactly the type of experience he gets use to.

So after watching all of them, minutes later i left for home coz i got work the next day.

the 100th post

hehehe,i hav no idea wat i wanted to post actually for my 100th posting, so i just do some random ideas and................................ came up the idea to post describe bout my frens i noe in ITB along wif pics of them. Sorry ah to some of u, inda ku ada ur pics in fone means inda ku dpt describe kamu ni hehhehe.

This is Adul who at 1st sight gav me the impression "this must be one of those guys i want to avoid gettin in trouble or be friends with", but i ended befriending more of him anyways, which mostly happened after a certain personal event .

This is Yusra, very well known in our class as "Tunas bangsa" and now he's refered to as "pms" by me, pmk by athirah and "pmp" by fizah n fatin,

Thats Arif over there (to the left in the pic) . Probably of all encounters b4 we become frens, i think i had the most wif him, including one at the TA Morgan for the textbooks matter.

And over here is Reena, one of my favourite choices when it comes to group assignment. And also known for a fact is that she got called "Mama Reena" by Adul just for the fun of it lols

Next, Julre (also to the left in the pic here). Everyone probably remembers her whenever she activates her infectious laughter which gets everyone laughing alongside her too.

Athirah(on the left) whos also known for givin the name PMK to yus (to which i forgotten the meaning)

Sarah(on the right), which i very much i can only describe her as vain hehehe

Iddatul here, or known as Datul (or Atoi to some ppl lol). Sometimes she's kinda blur in a funny way.

This is Zamri, who's with me in our SWE attachment.

Zulfaqar, one of the ZZ duo(the other being Zamri) that fools around wif ppl (for ZZ's fun at the other's expense hehehe)

This is Duratul, also known as dura or dora(by some ppl). I see her as like a child(not by attitude but by appearance lol)

Thats Emily over there to the left. My 1st impression of her was almost the same as the one i have for adul.

So tats pretty much all I have

Food prices

while i was at brustu they were having a conversation bout beating this increasing food prices,n i will quote saber n PhantomS of brustu for all of this

"Of course the above statement sounds like we are not creating more job opportunities. Well, the thing is, i dont really like lot of locals getting those jobs. Let the technology care of it. The locals should try..."

Technology will need people to maintain it and a continued supply of spare parts and infrastructure. Plus manual labour is still needed to operate the machines.

Locals are welcome to try, but the risk/gain ratio is still too dangerous for most investors. A failure at this venture will more than bankrupt an average businessman, while the more than average businessmen/people will hire outside anyway.

"replace all foreigners in brunei. It harsh yeah, but foreigners working at well placed jobs have higher salaries than locals. Sound like a waste to our economy"

It's not a waste, because I doubt there are replacements from the local pool of talent. All the 'great' ones are pulled into administration, after all. The proportion of Bruneians actually 'in the field' is very much less than Bruneians 'administering' - for example there are perhaps more clerks, receptionists, administrators, secretaries and other officers than doctors under the Ministry of Health.

Until someone gets their head out of the devil's ass and changes that, the foreigners will stay as there are few locals who have worked at their level for the same amount of time. Some 'senior' doctors for instance actually have only 4-5 years of hospital time but 20-30 years of admin time. the same goes for teachers; teaching 2-3 years and suddenly they're teleported to a department without any particular specialism to their name (not special education, physical education or religious education for example). Before you know it that person is a senior education officer somewhere, but hasn't been on the ground in 15 years or something. That's why foreigners still form the big majority of lecturers at UBD- they came here with bags of experience doing what they do, not doing something else.

If we apply this to food production, there might be very few of us who know anything about mass production of rice at Thailand- style levels or American grain harvesting. Looking at whoever is appointed up there is not really helpful- that's the admin side. Fella probably started out as a teacher or something.

-at this point, half of you have probably stopped reading as long posts upset some of you. Well, you're just ignorant.

Some ways to beat the food price increases might be:-

-Start processing the food ourselves. Producing food is not going to help if we have to export it somewhere to be processed (like our oil). Perhaps if we started processing food that we produce we could import less.

-Telling a Bruneian to eat less would be telling them to commit suicide, but it's either death or sensibility. choose.

-Stop accompanying every significant event in your life with food. Buffets in particular. Here, even funerals are accompanied with three day food fests that will burn the pocket.

-When people drink but not eat together, there's actually more conversation, too.

- Destroy the local perception that if no food is served, the person is a piece of shit. Destroy it utterly.

OR, use advance technology to attract more locals. (antah ah, not sure plang dont ask me how).

If anything, more advanced technology will be out of the intellectual reach of most locals. Technology enables you to solve a problem, it doesn't solve the problem on its own.

If sports are anything to go by, Brunei never trains anyone for long term success in agriculture either.

Thank you to these two for giving me something to blog about

Breezy day

I think this is that one time where almost everything was easy to do in the client's office. I think i can attribute it to the proper filing system of the client unlike the previous one, where everything is "in one file" instead of "one for each month".

Too bad,2moro is the last day i will be there. I hope other clients are this organized with their filing system too.

Killernas

I definitely find this to be an ironic thing, wanting to be accepted to the semester of SWE, yet to be complaining bout it so much. How much more funnier can this irony get i wonder sometimes hahaha. But unfortunately i hav no one to vent this out on, so just bear wif me or better yet, try not to read it and leave

Really, travelling that far to a client's office? why did i get assigned to such a client tat distant? is it becoz i can drive? Hopefully thats not the real reason, cause i hope they have better reason to send me off that far. As for my friend Zamri, gud for him , coz he gets the nearest place from the office which is just the floor above.

And sometimes when i hav to get assigned that far, sometimes i do feel a bit sad being isolated that far apart from my frens during lunch hour, its like lunch time wif u sitting in one corner while all ur frens are at another corner having a gud laugh n stuff.

And what doesnt really help is the social conditions of where i work, its like so anti-social compared to the rest of the places my other frens are working. When i see a quiet office, i always see signs of arrogance in most of them. At least i do get some conversations from suprisingly the non-chinese workers most of the time.

So because of such things, i been in depression in and out of everytime. Not to mention i had lots of things coming in my way, naturally, physically and mentally. These things just had to appear at the wrong times to make life harder for me. I always get through them somehow but i got a feelin i wont get enough strength for the ones to come. With my depression, i do tend to get a bit evil, this time i really wished i dun see certain ppl's faces next year when i get back to ITB but turns all Im bit crushed by wat i heard hours ago.

I did some back thinkin to the past and really wondered bout something:

"Why do ppl single you out for the bad things, when they hav even done it before?"

Excapade

2nite me n tikah planned to go to excapade,so i went to pick her up at her place then stopped by the TAIB atm so she could withdraw some cash.

Then off we go to the place, only it was jammed packed tat it took us like 30 minutes to find a parking spot. Once we entered the place, wow it was full, must be really more popular than i thought. Lucky Tikah made reservations hehehe. And this was my 1st experience wif sushi so it was great except that the blacksauce was a bit too salty.

After that, i sent Tikah home. On the way, my car overheated!!. Tikah immediately called Seit coz her place was near. After everything was cleared up then Seit just sent Tikah home while i continued on, to which it broke down again!!. Turns out after like 10-20 minutes of confusion, i found out the 2nd part of my coolant was empty so i managed to fill it up wif the last bottled water in my car. After that, problem solved, i managed to get back home without any problems though Im still shocked n lost a few hours of my life.

Day at the movies

I actually had almost nothing to do today, till amirul messaged me (to all my ex-pte classmates, this not same person as mirul twins as i noe at least 4 ppl whose names start with the letters "amir"hehe).

Apparently he was supposed to watch a movie wif a fren but got cancelled so he asked me whether im free today. Since i got almost nothing to do, why not? I just drive to his place in Rimba n then we both switch to his car and go off to to the Mall which jammed packed (its a sunday u noe) but we managed to find a basement parking elsewhere.

The movie we watched was Mummy 3, which is a gud movie tat i would rate 9/10 (which still proabably means 10 anyway, no one or nothing is perfect :P ) There so much of action going on so it was fun to watch and some funny scenes too like one where the guy tries to fish but ends up shooting them instead hahaha.

After the movie, me n amirul went off to wywy in lambak, contacting tikah n shah in the process but they completely didn reply *sigh* manakan durang ni hehehe. Since no answer from those two so ended up wif both of us going for wywy.

After that *skips out some not so important parts* , we went back to his place, got back into my car n drove home.
